Quick Update

I think I am going to have to play around with this until I get the hang of it. This is the second time I have uploaded these pictures. For those of you who haven't recently seen, or maybe have never seen pictures of the kids, here are a few from this summer.
The girls on our anniversary picnic. There is a neat park in Louisville called Waterfront Park that has playgrounds, a huge open field next to the river, water fountains, and this little area of random bird sculptures. They are sitting on some funky looking ostrich.
Doesn't Kole look happy squished in the back of the CRV between his sisters? Good thing we got the mini van!

The baby pool was a real hit even though we have a nice deck and above-ground pool in the yard too. This pool was much easier to manage both of them by myself. Plus they liked to splash each other.

As of today, Kole is 15 and will be 16 in December. He is a great big brother and has a lot more love and patience for his little sisters than I think most boys his age would. He is a sophomore and playing basketball. Actually, he isn't playing at this moment because he broke his growth plate in his foot. He is sporting a nice black cast and a wheelchair around school. The cast should come off the first week of the season so we are crossing our fingers it will be healed.

Kiya is 4 going on 14. She is extremely smart (sometimes WAY too smart for her own good), very sweet and has great manners in preschool and out in public, and is a total mommy's girl. Her teachers say she is one of the best listeners and I can take her just about anywhere me and there are usually no problems. As she enters the front door to our house, a force within her sometimes escapes and we have a preview of what her pre-teen and teenage years are going to be like. Sure, we expect the occasional tantrum and drama, but this is about 10 times of what I thought the 'average' 4 year old experiences. It is unbelievable sometimes how her mood for the afternoon/evening, can run the household. I hate to say this because it will jinx things, but the last 4 evenings have been wonderful, so all is well. Otherwise, she is a great help to me with her little sis and often I see and hear her say "Kessa is so cute" or "I love my sister." Those are the moments that warm your heart.

Kessa is 16 months. Her personality is way more mellow than Kiya (someone knew what they were doing), which helps us keep our sanity and is a great balance with her sister. She isn't quite the talker Kiya was at this age, but she is saying new words all the time. She is a pure sweetheart and loves to hug, pat or rub anyone who is holding her. There is a 6 month old at her daycare that she constantly hugs, rubs on the head, and pats on the back. We hope her laid back personality stays but with her sister around, the odds are not in her, or our favor. =)

As far as Kerry and I go, I teach 3rd grade at Silver Creek Elementary and I love it. This is my second year in this grade level and I am glad I made the switch last year. Kerry is managing Pacers and Racers, a running/walking store near our home. We are both extremely happy with our jobs and with each other. We celebrated our 6 year anniversary this summer and we continue to be very blissfully married.

I think that about covers it. Hopefully I will stick with this and update it from time to time. This next week is full of the pumpkin patch, pumpkin carving, and trick or treating, so I am sure there will be a new post next weekend.
